Section 01Introduction
AIBLE Academy (“AIBLE Academy”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is run by Shamane Tan, Cindi Wirawan and Tianyu Xu. We are committed to protecting the personal data of everyone who visits our website at aibleacademy.com, joins our waitlist or otherwise interacts with us. This Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 of Singapore (“PDPA”).
By using our website, joining our waitlist or otherwise giving us personal data, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy, and you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data as described in it.
Section 02Data Protection Officer
In line with Section 11(3) of the PDPA, we have appointed a Data Protection Officer (“DPO”) to oversee our compliance with the PDPA. You can contact the DPO at:
- Email · hello@tianyuxu.com
- Address · AIBLE Academy, Attn: Data Protection Officer, Singapore
Please send all questions, requests, complaints and notices about personal data and this Privacy Policy to the DPO.
Section 03Personal data we collect
We collect personal data that you give us, and some technical data that is collected automatically when you use our website.
3.1 Information you give us. When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address. If you write to us, we also receive your name as it appears in your email, and the content of your message.
3.2 Information collected automatically. When you join the waitlist, our hosting provider, Netlify, records the date and time together with your IP address, your browser’s user agent and the page you joined from. Netlify also keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address and browser user agent. To tell people from bots, the waitlist form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at technical details of your visit, such as your IP address and your browser’s characteristics. We use this data for security and operations, such as keeping spam and abuse out, and not to profile or track you. Our website does not run analytics and does not set cookies.
Section 04Purposes of collection, use and disclosure
We collect, use and disclose personal data for the following purposes:
- to add you to the AIBLE Academy waitlist, and to confirm by email that you are on it;
- to tell you when enrolment opens, with early access and early-bird pricing, and to keep you informed about AIBLE Academy;
- to give you priority information about our corporate programmes;
- to respond to your questions and requests;
- to operate, maintain, secure and improve our website, including keeping bots and spam out of the waitlist;
- to comply with applicable laws, regulations and lawful requests from public authorities; and
- to protect our legitimate business interests and legal rights.
We will not use your personal data for purposes that are materially different from those notified to you without first obtaining your fresh consent, unless the law permits or requires it.
Section 05Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We may disclose personal data to the following categories of recipients:
- Service providers that perform functions on our behalf, or that you interact with through our website: Netlify (website hosting and the waitlist form), Resend (sending our emails), Cloudflare (the Turnstile bot check), YouTube (the embedded video, which loads in privacy-enhanced mode only after you press play) and the provider of our email inbox. We share only the personal data each service needs, and each provider processes it in line with applicable data protection laws;
- Professional advisors, including legal, accounting and other advisors, where reasonably required;
- Public authorities and regulators, where required by law, court order or lawful request; and
- Successors in interest, in the event of a merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale of business assets.
Section 06International data transfers
Some of our service providers, including Netlify, Resend, Cloudflare and YouTube, are based outside Singapore, so your personal data may be stored or processed in other countries. Where we transfer personal data overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the recipient is bound by legally enforceable obligations to provide a standard of protection comparable to that under the PDPA, in line with Section 26 of the PDPA and the Personal Data Protection Regulations 2021.
Section 07Retention of personal data
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required to meet legal, regulatory, accounting or reporting obligations. Specifically:
- waitlist entries are kept until you leave the waitlist, and for no longer than twenty-four (24) months from the date you join;
- emails you send us are kept for up to twenty-four (24) months from the date we receive them; and
- server logs, and records of the emails we send, are kept by our service providers (Netlify and Resend) in line with their standard retention periods.
Where you ask us to delete your data but we must keep some of it for legal, tax or accounting purposes, we will tell you, and keep only the minimum necessary. When personal data is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymised.
Section 08Your rights under the PDPA
Subject to the PDPA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you, and ask how it has been used or disclosed in the past twelve (12) months;
- Correct personal data that is inaccurate, incomplete or misleading;
- Withdraw consent to our collection, use or disclosure of your personal data at any time, by giving reasonable notice to the DPO. To leave the waitlist, simply reply to any email from us, or write to the DPO. We will tell you the likely consequences of withdrawing, for example that we can no longer tell you when enrolment opens; and
- Lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore (“PDPC”) if you believe your rights under the PDPA have been infringed.
Please make requests in writing to the DPO at the contact details in Section 02. We will respond to verified requests within thirty (30) days. A reasonable fee may be charged for access requests, as allowed under the PDPA.
Section 09Security
We have put in place reasonable administrative, technical and physical security measures to protect personal data from unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks. Access to the waitlist is limited to the people who run AIBLE Academy. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect personal data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Section 10Data breach notification
If a data breach is likely to result in significant harm to the individuals affected, or is of a significant scale, we will notify the PDPC and the affected individuals in line with Part 6A of the PDPA and its prescribed timelines.
Section 11Cookies and tracking technologies
Our website does not set cookies and does not use tracking technologies. There are no analytics scripts, advertising pixels or similar tools on this site.
Two third-party services on our website may use their own cookies or similar technologies, under their own privacy policies: Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs in the background of the waitlist form to tell people from bots, and the YouTube player, which loads in privacy-enhanced mode only after you press play on the video.
Section 12Third-party links
Our website contains links to third-party websites and platforms, such as YouTube. This Privacy Policy does not apply to them, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
Section 13Children’s privacy
AIBLE Academy is for working professionals, and our services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe that a child has given us personal data, please contact the DPO and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Section 14Amendments to this Privacy Policy
We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any amendments will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date, and material changes will be announced prominently on our website. Your continued use of our website or services after an amendment means that you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
Section 15Governing law
This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
